So, what’s your (workshop) type?

  • Designed to be welcoming and a little bit magical✨. Whether you're here to try a new activity with friends🥰, taking the first step on your sewing journey 🌱 or in need of a refresher 🤔 you’ll leave with skills, confidence, and something you made with your own hands 🎉HOW EPIC?!!?🎉

This grouping of classes are considered a prerequisite for the rest of the sewing classes offered at Home Ec NYC

  • Centered around a specific project these workshops can run as an intensive or span multiple weeks, allowing for richer learning, creative momentum, and more meaningful connection with your work and your new sewing besties 👯‍♀️.

As we learn, play, mess up (it’s allowed!), and grrrrow .. You'll get to watch your process evolve and your skills and vision take shape. At the end? We celebrate 🎉—because showing up, sticking with it, and making cool shit with cool people is a big deal.

  • Flexible, expert advice when you need it. Book hourly support across a range of topics—from planning to problem-solving. This focused consultation will help clarify your goals, map out next steps, and identify opportunities for growth.kill Building

A collection of focused classes to master essential techniques🛠️, gain confidence 💪, slow down🐌, and actually enjoy the process! Each session covers a specific technique, breaking it down into clear, approachable steps with in-depth instruction and expert tips. Think of me as your guide down the rabbit hole 🐇. Leave saying: “Wait—I CAN totally do this!” Because you can. And you will 😘

  • Slow, intentional, and deeply satisfying 🧶✨. These workshops focus on techniques done entirely by hand with no sewing machines required! Rooted in the same creative world, these skills both support and stand alongside machine-based making. From hand embroidery and mending to pattern making and knitting, we’ll explore the quiet magic of working bit by bit.

Perfect for anyone craving a slower pace 🐌, a deeper connection to materials, or skills you can take anywhere. Come build patience, precision, and confidence while making something beautiful, useful, or both—with your hands, your brain, and a little bit of heart 💖.
