We will cover things like:

Prerequisite:

🤸‍♀️ This class requires recent sewing machine experience — this is not a learn-to-sew class. Students who have taken [Sewing 101] or a private lessons with me tend to be the most prepared, as my teaching style builds the strong foundation for all others. That said, if you feel confident, you know yourself best! This note is simply here to make sure you're set up to enjoy every minute — not spend it catching up or unlearning old habits. If your not sure if you meet the prerequisite - reach out I’d love to chat this over with you!

What is Included:

💃 Live demo
🛠️ Use of sewing machines and basic studio tools
🎨 Practice materials
👚 Work time on your actual existing garments
👯‍♀️ Individualized guidance from me!

👉Note: This does not include final garments to alter.

What do you need to bring?

👖Garments that you want to alter or practice on. It’s a good idea to have something to try on even if doesn’t need a hem just for practicing fitting. Appropriate options for this specific class are woven garments (i.e., pants, dresses, or skirts). You can bring jeans; however, there are special techniques required to maintain the original hem. I suggest checking out {Alterations – Jeans} for this type of hem.

What should I NOT bring?

💔Items in need of repair: this is an alterations class not a mending class. Check our the [mending workshops]
🫟Soiled or dirty items:  all items must be clean and freshly laundered
🧶Knit garments:  we will be focusing on woven garments during this basic alterations class.

👉Note: If the materials brought by the student are not appropriate for the project or they forget them, students can purchase provided materials at the time of class.
