Class Syllabus:

Day One//Preparation
We’ll review how to read the size chart, choose your size, and make simple fit adjustments if needed. After preparing the paper pattern, we’ll press and cut our fabric. The Float On Top can be finished with decorative trim around the neckline and armholes, and this workshop will teach that technique. Students are welcome to bring their own grosgrain or twill tape trim or purchase options available in the studio.

Day Two//Sewing
We’ll begin with a quick sewing machine refresher before diving into construction. Students will learn techniques such as French seams and flat-felled seams while assembling the garment. We will cover all of the finishing details, including the neckline trim, hem, and button closure.

Important: Although we will do our best to keep on schedule we recognize everyone works at their own pace. There is enough time to get through everything in class but depending on your work flow, some finishing may need to be completed at home. Isabelle will be available for questions after the class and additional studio time may be available if you'd like to continue sewing on-site.
