If you have other experience, let me know at checkout. If you’re not sure if you meet the prereq - email me to chat this over!
👉Note: This class is for adults. If you're interested in classes for teens and kids reach out!
What is Included:
🎁 FREE “That’s A Wrap Robe” paper sewing pattern (retail value $22)
📃 Printed instruction booklet for future use.
🛠️ All tools and instruction for the workshop.
💃 Live demo and instructions and demonstrations
👉Note: This does not include materials. Materials can be purchased separately or brought from home (see below).
What do you need to bring?
You can choose to have us provide your materials for a discounted price [by adding purchase an all inclusive cozy cotton flannel kit to your order] which includes all of the following plus your fabric will be pre-washed and you receive a dust bag great for storing your project in between sessions and perfect for storing fabric scraps after completing your garment.
If you would prefer to provide your own fabrics you will need to bring the following based off the the size chats below:
XXS-1X:
3 yards of cotton or linen fabric in a plain weave with no stretch like quilters cotton, shirting, or even flannel. (although depending on your size you could potentially use less!)
¾ yard of light weight fusible interfacing
1 spool of matching 100% polyester thread
XXL-8X:
3.5 yards of cotton or linen fabric in a plain weave with no stretch like quilters cotton, shirting, or even flannel. (although depending on your size you could potentially use less!)
¾ yard of light weight fusible interfacing
1 spool of matching 100% polyester thread
👉Note: If you would like to give this robe to someone lucky in your life: it will be beneficial to get measurements to know what size to make! If that is not possible, then have a rough idea of their typical sizing. This robe has a generous fit, so you don’t need to be TOO exact with the measurements, but it is helpful to select a size off of someone’s accurate personal measurements if possible.
👉Note: If the materials brought by the student are not appropriate for the project or they forget them, students can purchase provided materials at the time of class for full price.

Class Syllabus:
Week 1 — Tuesday, December 2 // Getting Started & Cutting Out (3 hours)
We’ll begin by getting to know each other and the project ahead. I’ll introduce myself and invite each student to share a bit about their sewing background. Then we’ll take a look at the finished That’s A Wrap Robe sample, talk through the finishing details, fit, and two pocket options. From there, we’ll cover how to take accurate body measurements to choose your size and walk through the pattern layout and cutting plan. Students will cut out their paper pattern pieces, press their fabric if needed, and begin cutting out their fabric. We’ll finish the session by applying the fusible interfacing, readying everything for next week’s sewing.
Week 2 — Tuesday, December 9 // Sewing Construction Begins (3 hours)
With your pieces cut and ready to go, we’ll start building your robe! This week’s focus is on the main body seams and pockets. We’ll prepare and sew the belt loops, then work on either the optional patch pockets or inseam pockets — your choice. After that, we’ll construct the robe’s side seams and shoulder seams, both finished with neat French seams for a clean and durable result. By the end of class, your robe will be taking shape.
Week 3 — Tuesday, December 16 // Final Assembly & Finishing Touches (3 hours)
In our final session, we’ll complete the robe and add all the details that make it special. We’ll sew and attach the sleeves (again using French seams), then attach the front and back trim. You can add an optional hanger loop if you’d like. After that, we’ll hem the robe body and sleeves, sew your belt, and hem the belt ends. By the end of the evening, you’ll have a finished wrap robe ready to wear home or wrap up as a handmade gift — a cozy, personal piece that celebrates the joy of making.
